Offered here for your consideration is a fantastic Retro style rectangular brooch or pin by Yumi Ueno. In sterling silver and gold with polished pyrite and garnet gemstones. Comprised of two textured silver rectangles set with pyrite and pyramid shaped garnet cabochons. The sides are joined by three cloud-like gold wires. Simply a great retro piece of wearable art! It dates to the 20th century. Yumi Ueno is a Japanese-American jewelry artist, whose fine and whimsical jewelry is informed by three-dimensional geometric abstraction. She works in varied metals including gold and sterling silver and incorporates precious and semi-precious stones in many of her works. Ueno has received numerous awards and has regularly exhibited internationally and on both US coasts. The brooch is in overall good, as-pictured used estate condition with some very light edge wear, some fine and light surface scratches here and there, and other signs of light wear consistent with age.
