Description: Unique SKX013-Sized Rolex Explorer Style Seiko SBBW055 5M43-0C50 Diver Scuba 200m Stainless Steel AGS/Kinetic Diver with Custom 5M63 and Sapphire Upgrade. Condition: Pre-owned; Very Good Condition. Excuding crown; 45mm lug-lug; 13mm thick; 19mm lug width. Accessories: Original Seiko 00W7-AB-C 19mm Stainless Oyster Bracelet (+1 link); Installed 5M63 Movement; Installed 28mm Blue AR Coated Sapphire Upgrade (Original crystal included); No box/paper/tags. It dates to the February 1998 based on the caseback serial. The SBBW055 belongs to an early set of Cal.

5M43 Kinetic Diver Scuba watches with Seiko's with the next generation 5M43 movement. It was later followed by the popular set of watches like the Titanium Grey Ghost Series. When I first acquired the watch the 5M43 movement was not charging despite a capacitor chance so my watchmaker was able to secure an next generation 5M63 Kinetic movement for the watch.

5M63A movement, it has an the extended 3-6 month power reserve on the capacitor compared to the usual 1 month capacity on the 5M43. Since the original mineral crystal had a few scratches, my watchmaker also upgraded the crystal to an anti-reflective coated 28mm sapphire crystal; of note, this is the same replacement crystal for the famous SKX013 automatic series. The crystal is pristine with no cracks/scratches; there might be one small area near 1 o'clock where the AR coat slightly uneven but it's near impossible to notice; original crystal included. The stainless steel case, screwdown caseback and bezel are in very good shape with a few light scratches. Screw down crown secure without issues and quickset day/day works well.

Glossy black Explorer-style dial with cathedral hands in great shape with minor aging; lume at medium-strong despite age. Movement is clean with a new capacitor; it is able to charge up to full capacity.

The watch keeps good time and all functions work; routine service, though, recommended for all vintages. You get the original 00W7-AB-C 19mm stainless oyster bracelet with diver extension; it easity fits my 7.5 inch wrist with 2 extra microadjustments; there is 1 extra link. Watch is rated to 200m but has not been pressure tested. This SBBW055 is not easy to find and you get a vintage Rolex Explorer vibe at a tiny fraction of the price - this beauty has the best possible 5M63 engine and a sapphire makeover.

It's a unique watch for these reasons and has served me well in my rotation but I'm letting it go for some new pieces - don't miss out!
